(NSW) SETS Double '86' tour On Saturday August 20, 2005, a "Double Headed 86 Class" tour was operated by the Sydney Electric Train Society. The tour featured two 86 class locos, including SETS locomotive 8606. The day long trip operated to the South and Central coasts. Additional highlights of the trip were the inner harbour balloon loop (coal loader), as well as the City Undergound and the Harbour Bridge. It was a rare opportunity to travel behind two electric locomotives as the last time a double headed electric passenger service was operated was with 8501 and 8510 on the Indian Pacific in January 1996. | |||||
