The Heavy Haul railways of the Pilbara region are renown
world wide for their power and size. 4000HP and 6000HP locomotives climb 1 in
50 grades hauling 30000 tonne trains.
These locomotives can only be described as massive standing over 16 feet high
and weighing over 190 tonnes. They are the most powerful locomotives in Australia
today.
